I like the look/price of the 150-600 sigma. How would the sigma at 600 compare to canon at 400 cropped? would the sigma be a lot better? My 70-200/2.8L IS II + 2x TC III at f/6.3 is as good as the 400/5.6 at f/5.6. The Sigma C out-resolves it at f/7.1, but only if other sources of blur (out-of-focus blur and motion blur) are virtually absent. Agree with the others that the RF 1.4x is an excellent addition to the bag. It's very sharp and fast-focusing, even more capable than the 1.4x iii (on the 100-400ii). I've hardly had mine off the RF 100-500, it's that good (I do mostly birding). A couple of samples from the R5 2. Hi ajamils, My SIGMA 60-600 mm f/4.5-6.4 is a really cool lens, used with my EOS R, it's produces very sharp images, even at 600 mm, very good for compressed landscape photography, wildlife, close-up nature and sports. IMHO, it is more versatile than the 150-600 C. The SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 is available in Canon EF Nikon F mounts, and the SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di USD G2, without VC, is available for Sony A mount. An optional lens case with zipper closure is also being released and will work with both the SP 150-600mm G2 and original SP 150-600mm. The 1.4x 2x Teleconverters will be available in I am considering adding a 60-600 Sigma Sport, in Canon mount, after having handled one at a local demo day. I believe that I would rather use a 60-600mm Sport, than add my Extender 1.4x III to my EF 100-400L II IS. I love my EF 100-400L II IS, but believe that my Extender is a better partner for my EF 300/2.8L IS. Yes, TC and cropping is no good. I do have the Sigma TC for the 150-600 and the Canon 1.4 iii extender I use with the old Canon 400 f5.6. I really was never too happy with the results of either of them on my 6Dii or 80D, but I have to say I'm getting some pretty usable images using the EOS R with the adapter.. I just rented the 800 f11 and it's It's smaller, lighter, and less expensive than the 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports ($1,999), but it doesn't look, feel, or perform like a budget lens. The Contemporary version—available for I didn’t mount my EF 100-400ii + EF 1.4x iii for a direct comparison yet, but I can say that the AF was significantly faster and more consistent than this combo on the 7D2 (I don’t have the Tamron 150-600, or the Sigma). You’re in for a real treat with the R5 no matter what lens you attach though. Canon EOS R5 Sigma 50mm F1.4 DG HSM 85mm F1.8 USM Canon EF 135mm F2L USM Canon Extender EF 2x III +16 more 150% for the TC vs 300% without, so neither get aM1TRe.
