The CA I talked to said the standard system is made by Harmon Kardon, but without the name plates and the only major difference is that the upgraded system has premium Logic 7 surround-sound. I find this hard to believe. Just trying to understand the spec differences. Edit: Title should say standard "hifi". I don't know about the stock system
On the base 2022 BMW X5 sDrive 40i or the BMW X5 xDrive45e, the standard stereo offers 205 watts and 10 speakers. But go for the M50i or X5 M and you get a Harman Kardon Surround Sound Audio
2020 BMW M8 Bowers & Wilkins: Great System—for $100k Less. A few weeks ago, we tested the 2020 BMW M340i’s Harman Kardon system and found it unimpressive when compared to its competition, such as the Volvo V60 Bowers & Wilkins. Although the system is a more expensive option, the Volvo altogether was better value and felt more isolated going
I had the Alpine in my 300C and SRT Jeep- had the HK in my Hellcat. The HK is NIGHT and DAY BETTER- hands down. Yes I wish it was louder - but it’s better in every way. If you want to beef it up- ad a subwoofer in the trunk. Current: 22’ TRX, 22’ BMW M4 Comp, 21’ Charger Redeye, 16’ C7 Z06 M7 Convert, 15’ Viper GTS , 22’ Durango RT.

Neither company is exactly perfect, each with its own set of unique pros and cons. In the end, it comes down to a few key considerations: Harman Kardon has the lower average price and the better sound over Bose. Bose, on the other hand, has more recognizable brands and a wider range of products in its catalog.
No, it doesn't. I care so much to music in the car and i have B&W now on my 2016 g12 750li and i had B&O and H&K, on my 2014's. B&O is the best, H&K is even better than B&W, in my opinion B&W doesn't worth even 500$, i can't believe it has a 1400Watts power, it's a lie.
I am perhaps going to look at BAVSound or independent BMW audio shop to upgrade my subs not worth the hassle upgrading everything. 60-130mph 6.5s X4M 60-130mph 5.0s G80 M3
Which is easily going to run you a good $1,000 if you want it to sound better then the HK, and even then that would be debatable. If you want good quality sound, stock look, and no aftermarket headaches, (IE: the HK is supported and warrantied by BMW) then go with the HK. Just my opinion of course.
